SF Bay Area Spring 2018 Action in Oakland CA To End the Wars at Home and Abroad

In the aftermath of President Trump’s rash and reckless launching of missiles on Syria in some illogical and illegal display of brute destructive power, there was a call by a broad coalition of anti-war groups to rally in various cities in the USA and around the world. The theme on the Bay Area notice I heeded said “End the Wars at Home & Abroad”, and that’s the link to reports from various locations gathered in one place.

This blog will have a mix of photos that I took at the colorful and spirited Anti-War march on April 15, 2018 in Oakland, CA, and some screenshots from the 3 minute video I made called Salute to the Spring 2018 Oakland Anti-War Rally Participants”.
Lake Merritt made a beautiful natural back-drop to the stage as you can see in the photos. The speaker above is Pierre Labossiere of the Haiti Action Committee. International Solidarity Against War was a theme I appreciated among the speakers. The event began at 11 am with a gathering of the crowd at the Amphitheater on Lake Merritt. It was sunny and festive and something of a grand re-union of veteran peace and justice activists from throughout the SF Bay Area mixed with a new wave of youthful anti-war demonstrators. I certainly enjoyed chatting with the kindred spirits I’ve come to know since moving from Delaware and planting my roots here in 2008.  At 11:30 am speakers and music began to be presented.
Lucky for me that I got a photo and video clip of myself by Gypsy Taub. I returned the favor by taking photos of her and her kids. I was heeding the 911TAP (9/11 Truth Action Project) call that was posted by IAmTheFaceOfTruth Facebook 9/11 Truth visibility group to demonstrate and communicate 9/11 Truth at these Spring 2018 Anti-War Marches. I was also heeding the call by this local San Francisco Bay Area Anti-War Coalition that was posted on Facebook. There are lots of links from other partiicpants posted there since the event.

One thing that motivated me and hundreds of thousands of other people of conscience to get out to the Spring 2018 Anti-War Action was that Trump had just bombed Syria without consulting the US Congress or waiting for evidence from an investigation. He put himself on shaky Constitutional grounds there. But the Democrats seem to want war too. And they would rather talk about Russia-gate and Stormy Daniels and Trump Tweets… They will talk about anything but how Obama continued Bush policies and how Hillary Clinton could lose to a chump like Trump by seeming to be the greater of two evils as the pro-war candidate.

The last time Trump bombed Syria after the last false flag chemical attack one year earlier, he did so under pressure from Israel and the NeoCons and NeoLiberals occupying the swamp of corruption that is the US Congress in the District of Columbia. This demo took place a couple days after IDF snipers had murdered unarmed protesters in the Gaza strip of occupied Palestine for calling for an end to the Apartheid occupation and for recognition of their right to return to their lands in Palestine. The war on Yemen by Saudi Arabia with US-Israel support was also addressed. Likewise Trump’s bellicose threats toward Iran and North Korea, and the seemingly endless war on Afghanistan where the black market of poppy fields and vast mineral resources are the plunder.

The Whistleblower – July 4, 2013 Commentary

Berkeley Calling! I’m a big fan of The Political Film Blog. I decided to re-blog this excellent post and post some July 4 Season of Whistleblowers Commentary about a movie that I saw over a year ago here in Berkeley.

“The Whistelblower” is an excellent and gripping dramatic movie based on real sex slave trafficking done by the UN and the US Pentagon contractor DynCorp during the occupation of the former nation of Yugoslavia to serve the so-called “peace-keeper” troops. Troops and their countries were granted immunity from prosecution from any crimes they may have committed.

Only one US Congressperson was brave and responsible enough to take on the issue with a demand for straightforward answers to her questions.

In the 9:21 YouTube segment from C-SPAN Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney D-GA grilled G. W. Bush Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Joint Chief of Staff General Richard Myers about the DynCorp sex trade and why they still have Pentagon contracts. Then she asks Donald Rumsfeld some hard questions about the 2.3 trillion dollars that he reported were missing the day before September 11 and about the war games that were taking place on 9/11. You can see for yourself how they responded without answering at all. The section of the Pentagon that was destroyed by something we are not allowed to see on the hundreds of surveillance cameras at the Pentagon was an accounting section tasked to find the missing millions.

C-SPAN preserved historic moment.  Showcased at 911TruthNews http://911truthnews.com/cynthia-mckinney-grills-donald-rumsfeld

Cynthia McKinney made a book tour in Northern California in April 2013. She had two books to promote. “Ain’t Nothin’ Like Freedom” tells her story about being in the US Congress,  and “The Illegal War on Libya“, which she edited. Both books are available at Clarity Press. At Laney College on April 17 I bought her book on Libya and she autographed it for me. She invited me to sing for her in Santa Rosa the next day. Eric Golub played violin that evening at the Arlene Francis Center.

Here’s a song to kick off your July 4 weekend!

Are You A Citizen Or Are You A Slave is an anthem salute to struggle that is done in a strident Cajun waltz style. The song was written by Vic Sadot and Cindy Hubschmidt. It challenges citizen apathy and cynicism. In reciting the successful parts of the historical record, the song confronts the notion that we cannot change anything. Yet the the historical record of struggle says otherwise. Colonialism, slavery, and debtor prisons were defeated. A Bill of Rights, the right to organize unions, civil rights, and womens voting rights were all won through struggle. As Thomas Paine once said, “Rights are not gifts from one man to another, nor from one class of men to another.” Rights are inalienable and not granted by the political powers that be. As the song says, “You’ll use your Bill of Rights ’til your struggles are won!”

This song, Full Spectrum Dominance, was featured in an earlier edition of The Political Film Blog as well as on the music page of the Global Network Against Nuclear Weapons and Power in Space. With the revelations of US spying on everyone we have to stand up and say loud and clear, “This ain’t the way it has to be!”

Unaccountable Immune Mercenary Monsters

This film tells the true story of an American corporate military contractor that was caught trafficking slaves in Bosnia during the UNs occupation.  The scandal was huge, involving many different nationals and organizations, a natural outgrowth of imperial war.

Kathryn Bolkovac was an American cop who took a job there in 1999 to make extra money, but she refused to back down or look away when confronted by the real War Incorporated, which was protected by both the UN and the US State Department.  The real company, of course, was DYNCORP.  This malignant cancer on the ass of the world is still gorging itself at the pentagon trough.  Iimmunity and impunity for America’s hired thugs is standard policy wherever the US goes, including Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Kathryn Bolkovac (Rachel Weisz) runs up against the corporate/governmental rape culture after learning about all the desperate…
