This song is from “Truth Troubadour”, which was released on Dec 2, 2016 as the 4th CD listing in partnership with CD Baby. The song is based on the book of the same title by King family lawyer, William Pepper. The book tells the story of the trial that Pepper won on behalf of the King family in 1999 in a Memphis court where a jury of 6 black and 6 white jurors unanimously found Loyd Jowers and unnamed government conspirators guilty of murdering Martin Luther King. The studio recording features Vic Sadot on vocals and acoustic guitar and Eric Golub on viola.

Amazon has this about the new book:

MARTIN LUTHER KING SURVIVED SHOOTING, WAS MURDERED IN HOSPITAL: AN INTERVIEW WITH WILLIAM PEPPER

Bestselling author, James Earl Ray’s defense attorney, and, later, lawyer for the King family William Pepper reveals who actually killed MLK.

William Pepper was James Earl Ray’s lawyer in the trial for the murder of Martin Luther King Jr., and even after Ray’s conviction and death, Pepper continues to adamantly argue Ray’s innocence. This myth-shattering exposé is a revised, updated, and heavily expanded volume of Pepper’s original bestselling and critically acclaimed book Orders to Kill, with twenty-six years of additional research included. The result reveals dramatic new details of the night of the murder, the trial, and why Ray was chosen to take the fall for an evil conspiracy—a government-sanctioned assassination of our nation’s greatest leader. The plan, according to Pepper, was for a team of United States Army Special Forces snipers to kill King, but just as they were taking aim, a backup civilian assassin pulled the trigger.

In The Plot to Kill King, Pepper shares the evidence and testimonies that prove that Ray was a fall guy chosen by those who viewed King as a dangerous revolutionary. His findings make the book one of the most important of our time—the uncensored story of the murder of an American hero that contains disturbing revelations about the obscure inner-workings of our government and how it continues, even today, to obscure the truth.

BERKELEY CALLING BLOG: Buffalo Roadshow Report! Inspiring, deep, awesome!

The Buffalo Field Campaign Roadshow brought co-founder Mike Meese to Fellowship Hall in Berkeley, CA along with event organizers Karen Pickett of Earth First! and Vic Sadot of the BFUU Social Justice Committee.

Musically, the 2016 BFC Roadshow featured two acts: Mignon Geli and Karaj Lost-Coast. Karaj Lost-Coast opened with a charming original composition to guitar called “Headlands”. It is a reflective patchwork of memoirs beginning with how odd it seemed to have wild bison in Golden Gate Park in the heart of San Francisco.

mignon-geli_flute_4-seasons-vic-sadot_screenshot-2016-buffalo-field-campaign-roadshow_berkeley-ca

The headliner was Mignon Geli on the Native American flute. Mignon gave an articulate and heartfelt explanation of the roots of each song, be it original or traditional or experimental, such as “Native Blues”, “Stampede”, or songs from the Nisenan tribe of the Nevada and California hills.

As a long-time lover of ballads and broadsides, I love the way some people like Phil Ochs, Buffie Sainte-Marie, Pete Seeger, Tom Paxton, Joan Baez, Patrick Sky, Peter La Farge Patrick Sky -The Ballad of Ira Hayes (Peter La Farge) and countless others, so effectively set up their song for delivery. It’s a talent that Mignon Geli has, in addition to her soulful instrumental talents. Matter of factly, she’s been heard to say: “The Black Hills are NOT for sale!” See her BlackHillsAreNotForSale.org biographical link below if you like these performances and if this multi-dimensional cause strikes a chord with you!

After Vic Sadot, an activist with the Social Justice Committee does a welcoming and promotion of upcoming SJC October 2016 events, Karen Pickett takes the stage to explain the vision and modus operandi of the Buffalo Field Campaign.

The Buffalo Field Campaign “Roadshow” came rolling through the SF Bay Area with founder Mike Mease presenting his stories and videos from years of engaging this project to protect and preserve the wild buffalo and the environment we all need to survive and thrive. Part of Mike’s talk was captured to a cell phone video, which is posted to this “Social Justice in the Heart of Berkeley” YouTube channel.

William Rodgriguez was head janitor at the North Tower of the WTC for about 20 years. He even survived the bombing in 1993 for which the FBI was alleged to have played a major role in setting up. He came in late on 9/11/01 and threw himself into the rescue effort. He was acclaimed a hero and dined at the Bush White House until he told his story to the corporate-government press and the 9/11 Commission. Then he was shunned by that media. William Rodriguez became a leading activist and advocate for victim families and is still at that effort.

San Francisco Mime Troupe “Schooled” July 4 Weekend

BERKELEY CALLING BLOG July 4 Weekend with SAN FRANCISCO MIME TROUPE – The Tony Award winning SF Mime Troupe opens in Berkeley July 2 & 3 at Cedar Rose Park, then moves on over to San Francisco’s Dolores Park for the annual July 4 gathering with its 57th season premiering “Schooled”. “Schooled” Excerpt from SF Mime Troupe: Education. It’s like the weather: everyone has an opinion but nobody does anything about it. That’s how Livina Jones feels about her son Tom’s new school, Eleanor Roosevelt High. With it’s old textbooks, crumbling classrooms, and racist treatment of kids just like hers Livina believes Roosevelt is exactly the sort of school that can benefit from a little free-market common sense. The nanny-state government has failed to see students as individuals, and failed to give them the real-world skills they’ll need to get ahead. So who says it isn’t time for some big money, for-profit schooling?

Vic Sadot, singer-songwriter based in Berkeley, CA, has a BA in Political Science from the U of DE. On 9/11/11 Vic Sadot released a 16 song CD titled “9/11 Truth & Justice Songs”, which remains available at CD Baby with two previous Vic Sadot CD’s: Comin’ Home by Vic Sadot’s Planète Foll Band (1997) and Broadsides & Retrospectives (Best of Vic Sadot & the Crazy Planet Band 2005). Vic Sadot has made music videos and a playlist for most of these 9/11 Truth & Justice Songs at his “Truth Troubadour” YouTube Channel.

Vic Sadot blogs at “Truth Troubadour” (9/11, deep politics); “Berkeley Calling” (politics and culture in the SF Bay Area with the “Living tradition of Free Speech in the SF Bay Area” as the theme); and “Broadside Balladeer” (political songs by Vic, Phil Ochs, topical folk songs). In 1973 Vic interviewed political folk singer Phil  Ochs, and in 2015 Vic created a video to go with that audio sound-track. See PHIL OCHS 1973 INTERVEIW at Vimeo or YouTube. While living in Delaware Vic Sadot was the band leader and singer-songwriter for the Crazy Planet Band (Reverb Nation) and the Planète Folle Cajun/Zydeco Band (Facebook for both bands).

Since moving to Berkeley, CA in 2008 Vic has mainly been a strategic street singer by making appearances, often unannounced, at various events. Vic showed up at at the San Francisco Federal Reserve Building on the 100th Anniversary of the Fed on 12/23/13 for the “End the Fed Rally”, and his performance was captured by Fifth Mike BridgeSpecial “ILLUMINATE THE FED” version of Bob Dylan’s “MASTERS OF WAR” (3:34). Singing with the No Nukes Action Committee at their events on the 11th of every month at the SF Japanese Consulate is reflected in photos used in the video “No Nuke Blues Fukushima Update”, and Labor Video YouTube Channel which captured the most recent speak-out and sing-out at the French Consulate in San Francisco. Local activists expressed their solidarity on June 14, 2016. See San Francisco Solidarity with the French General Strike.

Last week Vic launched a 47 day Indiegogo 2016 “Truth Troubadour” CD Fundraiser Campaign that will end on August 9. Vic hopes to release the CD on 9/11/15, if not sooner. Vic is also looking to book some concerts for the 15th anniversary of the terrible  9/11 and Anthrax crimes of September 2001 and the subsequent cover-up. The founder of the show, Kevin J. Barrett, has a PhD in Arabist-Islamologist Studies. Kevin is an amazingly prolific author, and also blogs and hosts another solo radio show as “Truth Jihad” (Truth Struggle). The latter part of the False Flag Weekly News show covers the 2016 election with James Fetzer, PhD Philosophy Emeritus U-MN, reporting and analyzing the latest developments of the last week. Jim also hosts “The Real Deal” Radio Show on the Media Broadcasting Center Official Channel. He blogs at the James Fetzer Blog. Jim is also an amazingly prolific author.

Vic Sadot, singer-songwriter based in Berkeley, CA, has a BA in Political Science from the U of DE. On 9/11/11 Vic Sadot released a 16 song CD titled “9/11 Truth & Justice Songs”, which remains available at CD Baby. Vic has made music videos for most of these songs at his “Truth Troubadour” YouTube Channel. Vic blogs at Truth Troubadour, Berkeley Calling, and Broadside Balladeer. Truth Troubadour Blog is about 9/11 and deep politics; Berkeley Calling Blog is about politics and culture in the SF Bay Area with the “Living tradition of Free Speech as the theme”; and Broadside Balladeer Blog covers political songs by Vic and others, Phil Ochs, and topical folk songs. Fpr example, see Broadside Balladeer Blog: Phil Ochs Legacy Lives On In The House of Woody. Many of Vic’s most recent songs are free mp3 downloads at SoundCloud by Broadside Balladeer.

Professor Anthony “Tony” Hall is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the American Herald Tribune. His most recent article there is “Is the 9/11 scam coming undone?”.

Vic Sadot first met Tony Hall at the 10th Anniversary 9/11 Truth March from the Gandi Statue to the Hebst Theater for the Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance 10th Anniversary Film Festival. Vic and Tony sang together on the way there. Unfortunately, Vic was expelled from the NCA911TA for blowing the whistle on censorship of the Pentagon section of a director’s film without his being consulted. Vic did not go public with this matter until after he was expelled on June 4, 2014. See Vic Sadot Expelled from Northern California 9/11 Truth Alliance in Quickie Vote on 6-04-15 Truth Troubadour Blog

Vic’s opposition to the strategy of prioritizing the group’s energy and focus on the release of 28 pages from the 2002 Congressional 9/11 Report, and his advocacy of instead stressing the release of the 6,500 pages of the 2014 Senate Report on US Torture as suggested in Washington’s Blog was not well-received. Neither was Vic’s call to expand the film festival to include more recent false flag investigations done since the 9/11 one was prosecuted and only encouraged the state terrorists to do more of them. See An Alternative 9-11 Truth and False Flags Film Festival – Truth Troubadour Blog 2-21-16 by N CA 9/11 “Truth” Alliance Expelled Whistleblower Vic Sadot to watch the mostly short films that Vic submitted for consideration to the 2015 9/11 Truth Festival.
